Mrs. Kimbrell is proud to return to her roots by serving the students, families, and staff of Wilemon STEAM Academy. As a Waxahachie native, she is honored to give back to the community where her educational journey began. She and her husband, Jason, are both graduates of Waxahachie High School and are proud to call Waxahachie home.

With more than twenty years of experience in elementary education, Mrs. Kimbrell has taught multiple grade levels and developed a passion for building strong relationships, supporting teachers, and helping every student succeed. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Learning and Development from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from The University of Texas at Tyler. She believes that meaningful relationships, collaboration, and a commitment to continuous growth are the foundation of a successful school community.

Mrs. Kimbrell and her husband have two children, Addison and Marshall. Addison is a graduate of Waxahachie High School and attends Texas State University, while Marshall attends Waxahachie High School. Mrs. Kimbrell is committed to partnering with students, staff, and families to create a learning environment where every child is supported, challenged, and inspired to succeed.

Mrs. Nelson brings almost 20 years of experience in education, primarily with Waxahachie ISD. Her aspiration to become a teacher began in her own elementary years. She began her career as a paraprofessional in 2006, then taught pre-kindergarten, second grade, third grade, and reading intervention in various capacities. She subsequently transitioned to the role of assistant principal, motivated by a strong desire to serve her students and the community even more effectively.

A proud native of Waxahachie, Mrs. Nelson is deeply committed to serving in the community where she was raised. Both she and her husband, Grant Nelson, are alumni of Waxahachie High School. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Texas A&M University-Commerce and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas at Dallas. Mrs. Nelson is also certified by the National Institute of STEM Education and is passionate about advancing STEM instruction, taking great pride in fostering innovative learning opportunities for her students.

Mrs. Nelson and her husband have two children, Brigg and Mila, who are both students in Waxahachie ISD. She is honored and excited to serve Wilemon STEAM Academy alongside an exceptional principal and team.
