Kate Authier
Kate Authier is the proud Principal of Wilemon STEAM Academy. Mrs. Authier grew up in Corsicana, Texas, and graduated from Corsicana High School. She continued her education at Texas A&M University and graduated as a proud Aggie! Mrs. Authier has taught 5th, 7th, and 8th grades. She also served as the Assistant Principal at Northside Elementary for four years. Mrs. Authier is passionate about STEAM education, is National Institute of STEM Education Certified, and has attended numerous conferences and trainings to further her knowledge of STEAM learning. She is married to her husband Matt, and together they have three boys - Anderson, Brooks, and Campbell. Mrs. Authier is proud to serve as the Principal of Wilemon STEAM Academy!

Assistant Principal
Jessica Nelson, M.Ed.
Mrs. Nelson brings almost twenty years of experience to the field of education, mostly with Waxahachie ISD. Her aspiration to become a teacher began in her own elementary years. She began her career as a paraprofessional in 2006, then taught pre-kindergarten, second grade, third grade, and reading intervention in various capacities. She subsequently transitioned to the role of assistant principal, motivated by a strong desire to serve her students and the community at an even greater level.
A proud native of Waxahachie, Mrs. Nelson is deeply committed to serving in the community where she was raised. Both she and her husband, Grant Nelson, are alumni of Waxahachie High School. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Texas A&M University-Commerce and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas at Dallas. Mrs. Nelson is also certified by the National Institute of STEM Education and is passionate about advancing STEM instruction, taking great pride in fostering innovative learning opportunities for her students.
Mrs. Nelson and her husband have two children, Brigg and Mila, who are both students in Waxahachie ISD. She is honored and excited to serve Wilemon STEAM Academy alongside an exceptional principal and team.
